We finally managed to get a simple RSS feed up and working on our site! Check out the link above and subscribe using your favorite RSS reader (Firefox has one built in already; literally drag the link onto your bookmarks toolbar!). Now you can stay in the loop without having to remember to visit the site!
Next week there will be a Class Council meeting to start serious discussion about our Class Gift! We came up with a bunch of ideas through some interesting brainstorming and now want to put them through the test. Anyone and everyone of the Class is welcome to come to the meeting and give their take on what it should be. This could be your chance to make a lasting impression! The meeting will be on Friday the 27th around 5 PM in the Union, and an update will be posted here on the exact time and location later in the week.
That’s a good question…

We’re sorry! There are a lot of questionnaires going around right about now (like National Health surveys), but a short and highly important one that directly affects you personally is the Class of 2011 Survey! It will only take 5 minutes to fill out, but we need quality feedback to better serve you. Our events that happen, the money we spend, and the service and philanthropy we provide are for the Class and Institute. Most importantly, we need feedback about the Class gift! We have a few ideas already. Do you like them? Do you hate them? It’s fine if you do, but please take a few minutes (or a day to mull it over) to think about what you would like to see as our gift. Then tell us about it, and then tell your friends! We know it’s getting to be a busy and stress filled time of the semester, but a daydream as you walk to class could be the next big thing. It doesn’t have to be super creative or aesthetic; it can be extremely practical. Now is the time where we can still choose. This timeframe won’t be available for very long.
You can take it here if you haven’t already. Double submissions won’t count.
Want to make your RPI experience better?

Some want to be able to look back on their college years with fondness. Others want to leave a lasting gift that is recognized for many, many years at their Alma Mater. Others simply want to graduate with sanity. The Council for the Class of 2011 needs your help and your participation to make these times the best of times.
First, the class gift is starting to take form. What ideas are epic enough to be considered worth of our class gift? We need a lot of ideas, and unless it’s a crafty and thrifty one, a lot of funding. We could throw numbers and say that if X people donated Y amount, then we could have this much funding! But we know how strained personal financial resources are during the college years. That’s why we are measuring participation, not how much a person donates, as the most important factor of the class gift fund. It’s a personal decision, but we charge each and every one of you to decide if you want to leave a legacy here at RPI that will be noticed every day, or leave a token to disappear into obscurity.
Second, our yearbook will be designed in our senior year. Hopefully it will not be forgotten in the flurry of future plans, applications, interviews, and celebrations. Lots of pictures will need to be taken from a range of events, from sports outings to social events. Then the layout will need to be designed. Experienced yearbook designers please apply! Even if you don’t want to do the whole yearbook, just a section, your help would be greatly appreciated. Time requirements would be kept minimal, but if would be a great way to put artistic and technical skills together and make your RPI memories last. We only get one yearbook. Let’s make it count.
